FAQs


1. Is there a registration fee? Do I need to pay any money to register for MOSIP Decode?

No, registration for MOSIP Decode is free.

2. Do I need to have any specific qualifications to be a participant for the event?

Students currently enrolled in any college/university around the world can participate.

3. How many people can a team consist of?

There can be a maximum of 5 members per team.

4. Can multiple solutions be registered from one team?

For MOSIP Decode, teams can submit multiple solutions across different Problem Statements. We allow one submission per problem statement. 

5. I have a solution that is unrelated to the problem statement but matches the theme of the event. Can I still go ahead and submit it?

Yes. However, we do suggest you adhere to the problem statement in order to get a chance to win.

6. Does one have to be online and available for the entire duration of the event?

No, one does not need to be logged in on HackerEarth or be online for the entire duration. You can develop the application on your local system based on the given themes and then submit it on HackerEarth.

7. How do I know if my solution was shortlisted?

Results will be communicated to the participants via email from decode@mosip.io, or on the SPOC's phone number provided by you on the registration form. You can also follow MOSIP’s LinkedIn page for updates.

8. Will there be any training?

Yes. We will be conducting a webinar introducing the MOSIP platform and its components at the start of the hackathon. In addition, the MOSIP team will provide periodic mentoring over monthly AMA sessions, and offer support on the HackerEarth Discussions board for urgent queries.

9. Do I need to give a demo for the solution that I have built?

Yes, we require a demo video as part of your entry. Please refer to the Submission Checklist for details.

10. Do we need to have a complete, working solution?

Yes.

11. Are we allowed to use third-party components like open-source libraries, etc. to create a solution? Are there any limitations on external components?

Yes. You may utilise open-source libraries, datasets (e.g., Kaggle, Hugging Face), and freely available systems/services (e.g., Google Maps, Facebook Connect, Twitter feeds). However, please note that participants are expected to propose new and innovative solutions. Copied or borrowed ideas, including those from internet sources or generated by AI, will not qualify.

12. Are there any specific technologies or programming languages we must use?

No.

13. How do I submit what I have developed for MOSIP Decode?

Deliverables are listed in the Submission Criteria.

14. Will the sandbox environment support multiple languages?

We will have a sandbox environment called Collab that supports English, French, and Arabic.
